Meet the owner.

Ted Kilcommons has extensive experience managing construction projects for top names in hospitality, retail, and residential design. A contributor to Popular Mechanics and a visiting instructor at Pratt Institute, his work has been featured in Architectural Digest and Wine Spectator. He served on the board of Yestermorrow Design/Build School in 2014 and received the Excellence in Historic Preservation Award from The Preservation League of New York in 2017. He now serves on the capital projects review panel for the New York State Council on the Arts.

Ted began his construction career twenty years ago as a carpenter and foreman renovating Brooklyn townhouses. After training in millwork and furniture, he founded a design/build studio focused on craft for residential and commercial clients before evolving into his present role as general contractor.

He has a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and a NYC teaching license, earned through master’s-level coursework. Before transitioning to the construction industry, Ted was a classroom teacher in East Harlem for five years.
